The NYC DOHMH is currently accepting resumes for several part-time peer facilitator positions for a new workshop series for persons living with HIV/AIDS. These positions are paid and the peer will receive a stipend.
In Fall 2011, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) will launch an HIV education workshop series, The Positive Life Workshop, for persons living with HIV/AIDS. This workshop series will give people living with HIV the knowledge, motivation, and skills necessary to improve their health, support their immune system, increase treatment adherence, reduce risk behaviors, and develop health supporting routines.
Peer Facilitators, who are themselves living with HIV, will guide and support small groups in activities and discussions during The Positive Life Workshop in two workshop formats, a half-day introduction and a two-day intensive course, which will be scheduled approximately 8 to 10 times per calendar year
If you are interested in applying for this posiiton please email your resume and a cover letter to: Terri Wilder at twilder@health.nyc.gov
