Gay Men of Color Policy Initiative Manager
Responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of NMAC’s gay men of color policy initiative and stigma project.
Conduct background research on HIV related stigma and its impact on communities of color. Collaborate with Communications Division to develop stigma related materials and a best practices document for print and Web site publication and dissemination; develop the focus group protocols, and training curriculum, plan and coordinate the focus groups and regional workshops, conduct the focus groups and training workshops with other Division staff, implement the project evaluation and prepare all project reports.
Advanced degree in behavioral/ social sciences preferred. Four years of experience conducting research. Knowledgeable in HIV/AIDS and/or health and ethnic and racial minority communities required. Experience in the legislative process and issue advocacy preferred; demonstrated ability to understand and apply behavioral and social science research findings to advocacy and public education. Outstanding written and oral communications skills a must. Experience in staff supervision.
