Project Officer: Child focused HIV/AIDS Intervention and Management
Project, Vietnam

Save the Children UK (SC UK) is an international development and child
rights agency. SC UK now seeks an experienced Project Officer to join our
national HIV/AIDS project team. This advocacy-led project aims to
mainstream children in HIV/AIDS programming and thereby to help reduce the
impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on children in Vietnam. Project areas
include: strengthening HCMC peer education programme and developing
national children's networks, improving child participation and
representation in HIV/AIDS policy debate, influencing key opinion-formers
and decision-makers, and supporting improvements in project efficiency and
effectiveness. The position is initially offered for 2 years and the
successful candidate will be based in HCMC.

Main Responsibilities

You will support the Provincial Aids Committee and district partners in the
planning, implementation and review of all project activities in HCMC.
Reporting to the Project Coordinator in Hanoi, you will have specific
responsibility for developing the quality of our peer education programme
and for developing innovative and creative strategies to strengthen the
participation of children in all aspects of our work.

Key Competencies

- Vietnamese national / University degree
- Experience in community based HIV/AIDS projects
- Understanding and awareness of HIV/AIDS and children's issues
- Knowledge and experience of non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
- Presentation and facilitation skills
- Advanced spoken and written English
- Analytical report writing skills
- Word, Excel and Email computer skills
- Creative and innovative approach
