I'm a photography student located on Long Island, in NY. I'm doing an editorial project on individuals living with HIV/AIDS. I would like to compassionately photograph you in your natural environment, as well as possibly in the studio. I appologize, but I can not financially compensate you for this work. All I can offer is a print of the image of you that I use. Please contact me ASAP if interested. jenlh30@mac.com. Thank you, and God Bless.

You know what...........HIV Positive people usually look no different than anyone else you meet on the street. The only difference is: "We know we have the virus", and they don't!!
So, in reality, unless someone has an opportunistic disease that causes wasting whereby your cheeks are hallow, or kidney/liver disease where you turn yellow, or the like....we all look alike...
I don't know if you expect(ed) us to "look different"........;but we do not unless we are "sick" at the time we're photographed.
Sorry...

I did not hear her insulting the way people who are poz look. She did not once say...people who look like they have hiv. she said she was doing a story on poz people (so what would the harm be to photograph them) ??? I don't think her question sounded accusingly as if we with hiv should look different then others!!

I agree with debtex. Don't assume the photographer was labeling you or anyone else. I think the gesture is nice. Thank you.
