I got an itch!

My anal area has been itching for over 2 weeks now. I'd like to think that I have a hemhoroid or something similar. Prep. H seems to relieve the itch but it doesn't seem to go away completely. One of my POZ friends suggested that I may have anal warts...the thing is I can't seem to feel any warts. Am I supposed to be able to feel them? I haven't let anything in there in ages, not even with a condom. I do shave that area to keep it clean, POZ people can relate I'm sure. The hair is growing back now and maybe that's causing the itch, but I have to say the itch seems to be coming more from inside. I don't want to shave again and perhaps agitate it more. It's not sore, there's no blood...IT JUST ITCHES. The severity of the itch tends to vary. Does anyone out there have ideas, suggestions? Maybe I should just go see the Dr. However, feedback would help in the meantime. Thanks!

Some people (like the person who responded before) can be ass holes, can't they? Anyway, hemeroids and warts can be inside you and not show any signs outside. Maybe you should get it checked out. The itching thing could be caused by shaving, but why risk it.

I apologize if my previous comment appeared insensitive. However I am having a difficult time understanding why so many post unconfirmed fears about health when common sense would dictate going to a Dr. It could be disastrous if someone responded with some amateur advice and the poster did not follow up with a Dr.

When I was younger, it usually meant that I NEEDED something in there really bad.
You did not state if you were on meds, but sometimes the nerves in various areas are irritated by them.
