Trizivir??????

I am currently taking epivir, zerit and viracept, but am thinking of switching to Trizivir (epivir,retrovir and ziagen in one tablet). Does anyone have any experience with Trizivir? What kind of side effects? Does it contribute to lypodistrophy less than my current combo? I read that it may help with lypo. Any comments and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

In addition to the posts in the Experts' Forums, take a look at http://www.thebody.com/confs/ias2003/sax2.html, which describes a study showing improvements in lipodystrophy when Zerit is replaced with either AZT or ABC (both of which are in Trizivir). If you're thinking of switching to just Trizivir, look at some of the postings regarding Trizivir-only therapy, which in one study was not as effective in maintaining undetectable VL as was Combivir plus efavirenz. Thus, you may want to consider switching to Trizivir or Combivir plus Sustiva if your resistance profile allows it. All that, of course, must be discussed with your doc. Note the AZT component of Trizivir can cause anemia in some people.

I have been on ?Trizivir now for over 3 years i think. Have no problems at all. Undec. viral load. High tcells from 500 to 1200. I had tcells as low as 248 and 400,000 viral load. I had been on other meds before. But I only take Trizivir. So far so good for me....I'm 39 hiv+ since 1994.

Ive been on trizivir for a little over a year now and have had great results. I did gain about 25lbs the first 6-8 months , but my doc said that was normal and for the past month it has been comming off quickly with little extra work. My virual load was 325,000 when i started and within 3 months was totally undetectable.
