Most go through some sort of programs. Yes it is very expensive, too expensive . but what isn't in this capitalistic country. Do you ask cause you need to go on meds or just cause your curious perhaps for someone else.

Look up to the Heavens for the answers to Lifes questions .

If you are on Atripla there is a program that will reimburse you for your co-pay. Google Atripla Assitance Program and you should find a link

They can be quite costly depending on the medication. My ex-bf is on Atripla, the one-a-day pill, (costs about $1500 a month) & his old insurance company covered all about $50 of it which was then picked up by the AIDs Response Effort in my area.

It's gone up a few hundred since he started it I believe & he almost had to start paying $800/month for it himself due to his company being taken over & their changes. Thankfully, the new company decided to switch to Aetna after the transition which covers it again.

The medication is very expensive. Some states do have AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP) which can help you pay for the medications.
