Does anyone know how to access atazanavir, a new protease inhibitor not yet approved? I've got less than 20 CD4, VL 40,000, am multi-drug resistant, and don't have too many options left. I might be getting T-20, but need another good drug to add to it. Any information is helpful. Princealbert

Best bet is to get ahold of STEP, as they can refer you to a local test center for possible inclusion in a trial. Otherwise, touch bases with the CDC and they can refer you to trials in your area or how to be included. Who manufactures the drug? That may be another way to get included in a trial. I didn't use meds for the first 13+ years, and found different ways including bittermelon to control VL, without much cost and it seemed to stomp on infected cells, keeping it "stupid", even though it cannot suppress replication. It does cross the blood/brain barrier also. (alot like Compound Q, without the risks.) Info is available through STEP, and although not perfect, did buy me a lot of time. I hope some of this helps, and feel free to email if you need more suggestions or help. Kevin.
