Hi Everyone,
Hope this message finds you well!! i`m looking for the openion of people who have more experience than myself living with HIV.
I was diagnosed on 20th Mar `09 (with a virus that`s resistant to alot of drugs) and have had 3 blood tests since. figures:
25th May `09 : CD4 1,035 and VL 10,299 24th Sept `09; CD4 729 and VL 1,391 05 March `10; CD4 647 and VL 4,400
My question is if it`s normal fro figures to vary? i thought things would stabilise for a while? especially as the VL dropped from over 10,000 to 1,391...... i assumed that this time it would be lower again or even undectable... instead it went upto 4,400!! really disappointed!!! what are your views???
Thanks for your time,
Dreamer

Dreamer, you mentioned that your resistant to a lot of drugs, but are you currently on medication?
If so, then you should be seeing an undetectable viral load and since it isn't, then your medications need to be looked at. Something isn't working.
Off medications the viral load can vary, but it tends to trend in an upward fashion. CD4s can jump all over the place with or without medication. Again, it's the trend over time that is more important than any one set of results.

Dreamer,
It is normal for numbers to fluxuate, since you are not on meds there can be contributing factors to the number variation, like stress, social drugs, alcohol, to name a few, so you might want to look at things in your life that can cause you unwanted stress and to avoid those situations, social drugs like meth can affect your numbers best is to stop using it, i know because my numbers was affected because of using social drugs, alcohol can also lower your immune system keep it moderate not excess on the booze. it will also help if you start a hobby like gym or any sport that you can benefit from health wise, also start eating a more heathier diet as junk food serves you no good.
