Unprotected sex between HIV+ partners

Hi all. First, I'm truly grateful to find this site - it was recommended by my doctor.
My question is this: what is the current thinking about bareback sex between HIV+ partners?
My doctor says what we've heard about "superinfection" is a myth. What are your doctors saying about this?
Thanks very much for any feedback / referrals to studies / thoughts you may want to share.

Superinfection? Dont know but lets put it this way... Your partner most likely has a different strain of the virus. If ever they were the same, they are constantly changing and mutating from its original esp if you or he are on meds. Do you want to risk infecting your partner with another strain?? My ID doc says practice safe sex.. Your call, I just dont want to take any chances with statistics. I lost on the first goaround... I know others who practise pos to pos without protection. Some of them are not doing so well with resistance factors... There is not enough data yet to truly warrent unsafe sex between to pos as far as my background goes....
I suggest you post your question in ASK THE EXPERTS. My doc is on that site Dr. Benjimin Young in MEDS. He usually gets back with questions pretty quickly...
