Thanks for the replies. As far as smoking marijuana, I have tried it
once and it made me cough so much I actually threw up. I don't
smoke cigarettes. My friend said that the more I smoke the less
coughing and the more I would enjoy the buzz. Is that true? What
does marijuana do to the lungs? Is it like smoking cigarettes, does it
do any damage?

Marijuana will definitely cause lung damgage. It's estimated that
one joint has the equivalent tar/nicotine of 15 cigarettes. Obviously,
you won't be smoking a lot of joints. Some clients of mine get buy
with half a joint per day. You will get used to it over time and the
coughing will stop.
