geographic tounge

i found out by my dentist that i have got geograhic tounge.
i have looked it up all over the net and i cant find anything about it. and how it is caused, and if there is any treatment for it, and will it go away. i am afraid to laugh, or talk due to this. any recomendations on what i could do? does this have to do with my having aids?? alot of questions.

I had a friend with geographic tounge years ago (pre aids) he said it was a condition which "some people get" sorry thats all I know but I would see a ENT(ear,nose and throat doc. instead of a dentist. good luck
