Wild dreams on Sustiva!
      #139128 - 03/23/05 01:49 AM

I have had some crazy dreams while on Suativa! I never had dreams like I have been having!
I have been taking Sustiva for almost a year nos so when are these wierd dreams going to stop? My dreams consist of people swimming in a clear blue ocean immediately outside my apt.
I live in Pittsburgh so where is the ocean! I dreamed a tornado hit while we were swimming!
After swimming I saw where my friend put a baby in an oven???????????? I would never do that! Do you guys have these wacky dreams on Sustiva???? HELP! My dreams are very eventful!
At the start of this dream I meet a former best friend at Sheetz and we go to my place where many are swimming in the cement ocean outside my apt! This dream is so vivid that I can recall all of it! There is much more to this dream but I wont go on! You will think I am a nutcase!

Yeah I have those wild dreams too sometimes. Lately they haven't been occurring as often. Treat yourself well and don't drink alcohol. I have noticed when I drink a glass of wine it intensifies the dreams. Maybe everyone is different. I believe staying healthy is worth the side effects, Sustiva works from the brain which is actually good I am told.I have thought about switching, however I am undetectable and I want to save other options for the future if necessary. You have my support and I completely understand. Remember, You are not alone. Take Care!!!!!!!

Just remember, they are dreams. I am lucky to not have to go on meds yet, but I know when I tried to quit smoking on the patch, I was having weird dreams myself. Way the pros and cons if your gonna switch meds and talk with your dr. This way you can figure out what is right for you.

I have been taking sustiva for the past three years, and I still have weird dreams. I have tried taking it in the morning, but am a total zombie for about 3 hours or so. Although my sleep is often interrupted by these strange, intense, realistic dreams, I have learned to accept them. Sometimes I even jot them down in a notebook, as many are very amusing.

I am on Sustiva as well for about 4 months. I have vivid dreams but not frightening. I've learned a trick, though...watch a porno just before bed, and your vivid dreams may be very exciting in a good way!

I have wild dreams also, but I kind of view them as a benefit. As long as the meds are working and you can tolerate the wierd dreams then enjoy them. I love the idea of jotting them down. I think I might try that. I find that by taking sustiva at night that it doesn't have as much of an effect on me as when I take it in the daytime (if I forget the pill at night or wake up at 3AM and take it). I feel like a zombie too when I do that.

I've been on Sustiva for 3 months and the dreams seem so be subsiding. The first night I took the drug I had a vivid dream that there was a beautiful blue sea stretching out to the horison from where my office is in Sydney. Seems similar to your dream. I have found some of my dreams to be quite theraputic although lately I don't seem to remember them as much. There is plenty of advice regarding how to minimise sleep disturbances at TheBody.com
Sweet dreams.
