I was have a 2 Elisa tests both negatives at two and three months(12 weeks) after risk, but at four month the lymph node turn up in my neck (no mores symptoms, no fevers)....I'm in the 6 months after risk and the lymph node still in my neck, more little, but still there....

That's too late for being ARS and it is related to some other infection. So do not worry.

No, it would not be just one swollen lymph node. ARS produces swollen lymph nodes in many areas such as the armpits, neck, and groin area. I think that you should be happy with your 12 week negative. It is VERY unlikely that this would be ARS related. 4 months is pretty much unheard for ARS to turn up. Only if you think maybe you are co-infected or had PEP would I even think about ARS, but as I said very unlikely. Finally, are you sure your lymph node is swollen? Did a doctor feel it and say that it was or do you just *think* that it is? I can tell you from my own personal experience that what you think and what is are not necessarily the same. I've thought I have had swollen lymph nodes for a month and a half now, but the doctor always says no when he checks. Anyway, you are HIV-, so try to relax and not worry anymore. :-)

Well ARS dosent happen 3 months after exposure. Also you should be confident in your 12 week test. Most organizations say 12 weeks is about 99% accurate. Also, in ARS glands throughout the body would swell up, you wouldent get just one. You tested negative at 12 weeks. It would be EXTREMELY unlikely that you would turn up positive on a 6 month test. I think you are jumping to conclusions. Everytime you get sick are you going to suspect HIV? If so then I would seek psychiatric help.

Hi,
4 month is to long for first signs of ARS to show up. ARS show up 2 weeks after you have been infected and the maximum time for ARS to show up after infection is 4 weeks but this is very uncommon. So that means that this is not ARS, are you sure it is your lymph node? First of all talk to a doctor and se if it is a lymph nodes because lymph node is quite difficult to feel if you arenīt a doctor and also having a swollen lymph nodes is not uncommon. The second thing is that HIV virus is not easy to catch and in one episode of vaginal intercourse with an infected partner the risk of contracting HIV is below 1%. The third thing is that you have tested at 12 weeks and the test was negative. We donīt have many report on delayed seroconversion and thoose we have is old and these report doesnīt grow and also now one have ever duplidcate these reports. Reports saying longer than 3 or 6 month you canīt be sure that the person have given the right exposure date, laboratory errors and so on. Also the test we use today is so sensitive that it will give positive result at very tiny amounts of antibodyīs and that why it is very common that pregnant girls, autoimmune illneses gives positive answer. Many persons experience ARS syptoms and the most common reason for that is stress and panic. The best thing is to not read about syptoms for ARS and be with friends and familily and realize that life is to short for thinking about HIV. You donīt have HIV, Try to focus on other things like friends and familiy and if the problems doesnīt go away go and see a doctor. Try to relax, I know that is hard but it is the best thing for your body to have harmony. Take care! Your syptoms isnīt ARS. And you are negative at 12 weeks that is enough, all data showing that the wast majority have positive test after 4 weeks the only time you need to test at 6 month is if you recieved PEP medicatins after a high risk exposure. Take care and good luck!
