Hello I have a question about some symptoms.
On 6/11/06 I had a expossure. almost five weeks later i got the flu and sore throat and one day of fever. Since then I get a soar throat on and off and yesterday after almost 8 weeks of exposure my throat hurts and have a white coating tongue and a sore on the inner lip.
If this is ARS does it usually last so long almost a 8 weeks and still having symptoms?. I am so scared. I really appreciate all you guys do in this forum. Thanks

You can't diagnose based on symptoms. ARS does not last 8 weeks, usually 2 weeks. If you aren't sure, get tested!

what kind of exposure ? were you infact exposed to hiv or did you just have unsafe sex ? take a test now, 8 weeks is good enough for a accurate result.

don't rely on symptoms as i had done. my experience was very similar to yours, flu like symptoms with white coating on tongue after 6 wks of exposure from uprotected sex. i ended up dragging the partner i thought had exposed me to get tested together and both came out negative! although my window period was 11 wks, it didn't matter because my partner tested neg. whew! what a relief. we are still together and at peace of mind. it is true, the only way to know for sure is to get tested.

cant help you with out specifics on your exposure. Even then, symptoms tell us nothing related to the HIV virus.. NOTHING..
