Father Rodney J. DeMartini
In the early 1980s, when a close friend was diagnosed with AIDS, Rodney began to become involved in early community-based and Church efforts to respond to the epidemic. In 1985 he received volunteer training with the Aris Project in Santa Clara, CA and two years later was elected as President of the Board of Aris. In 1988 he was hired as the first Director of AIDS Education for the Archdiocese of San Francisco and in 1990 became a member of the first Board of Directors for National Catholic AIDS Network. He was appointed Executive Director in 1991 and continues in that position today. He is no longer answering questions at The Body. However, you are welcome to read the questions he has already answered. |
