|Need Info on Disability

Hi Nancy and Lynn, Can you please tell me that if one applies for SSDisability, does the SSAdministration look into your bank accounts and/or other assets one might have? Thanks for your help. I did not see a question section on legal issues, so I hope you can help. Thanks, Todd
Response from Ms. Franzoi
Social Security disability benefits are determined based on two things - health status and the number of quarters you paid into Social Security. If you are determined by the SSA to be disabled from a medical standpoint and you have contributed to SSA for at least 40 quarters (10 years), you would qualify . Your personal assets do not factor into the determination.
