Aug 8, 2000
a friend of mine was diagnosed with aids 3 years ago and applied for social security and ssi he was denied from both so he appealed and was denied at the reconsideration then he appealed and was denied from the alj whats up with these people he cannot work and is still wasting. He was diagnosed in may with testicular cancer and thank god it was localized and didn't spread to other parts of his body but now he has binder and binder to help him through the next stage i think that our system is so screwed up that no one can get the benefits that they so deserve what are the chance for him now with an attorney?

I suggest that he contact an attorney who is trained in assisting individuals in obtaining Social Security disability benefits. If he has a disability policy, the insurance carrier might be able to refer him to an attorney. If not, he should contact a legal aid organization for a referral.
