Drugs from Africa
Dec 14, 2001

Hello, One more question. Big pharmacutical companies are supplying HIV drugs in Africa for cheaper prices. Can some one buy those drugs from internet? Would it be leagal to do so, as i heard one can buy drugs for personal use.

Response from Ms. Donnelly

The offer that some drug companies have made to African and other developing countries applies only certain types of buyers. It would have to be the Government of a country or to some large entity such as a large employer or other network that had the capacity to deliver the treatments to individuals. They can't be bought over the internet for the prices that have been discussed.
