| Nanny with AIDS Jun 8, 2001 My nanny has AIDS with less than 100 T cells. He is taking care of my 5 month old son. I read a previous response about protecting those with AIDS from common colds. Should I worry about my son giving him anything else? (We know not to use the live polio vaccine). Thank you in advance for your answer. |

Response from Ms. Breuer
What a thoughtful question. Your nanny would be endangered by common childhood diseases such as chicken pox or mumps, but not being a physician, I am unfamiliar with the risks of the vaccines for those conditions. I encourage you to ask the pediatrician if there are other thoughtful precautions. Thank you. | |||||||||
