|Hiv + nurses
Nov 15, 2014
Hi i am diagnose to have hiv a week ago and about to start arv. I have plans to work abroad because i am nurse here in the philippines. What country would allow me to work as nurse ? Or is it possible to work in the US even though you are hiv postive?

You would need to check with each country you are considering moving to. You can usually find answers by browsing the name of the country and "medical work when HIV+" or something similar.
It is possible to work in the U.S. in the medical field as HIV+. There may be a few states that still restrict invasive types of work, but otherwise there should be no problem. The key is the enforcement and use of universal precautions which protects patients from your infection as well as protecting you from theirs.
Good luck in your search.
