Response from Mr. Chambers
You state you are "from India," so I am assuming you are asking about work discrimination in India. As in many countries, a stigma still attaches to HIV, and there is discrimination against people with HIV in society and at work.
However, discrimination at work against persons with HIV is illegal in India. See this article.
In the U.S. the Americans with Disabilities Act provides protection against discrimination due to HIV, but it is still something that probably should not be brought up at work.
It is probably wiser to keep your situation private when at work whether in India or almost anywhere else, as, regardless of the law, there are people with irrational fears everywhere.
Good luck, Jacques See this article.
