HIV+ job offer in Singapore
Aug 5, 2013

I have just been offered a job in Singapore and understand that an HIV test is mandatory.

I was recently tested as being 'undetectable' (below VL 40). Can you please let me know whether the employment screening test will detect my HIV status?

Response from Mr. Chambers

Singapore is not a friendly place for HIV+ travelers. See the information at this site. Persons traveling there for more than 30 days are tested, and deported if positive.

You may want to double check with a medical professional but it is my understanding as a lay person that regardless of your viral load, an HIV antibody test will test positive.

I'm sorry. Jacques
