| Employment in the Healthcare Setting Feb 21, 2013 Are there any restrictions on persons with HIV becoming nurses, physician assistants, doctors, etc? Or do you have any idea where to locate such information? Do schools screen for this kind of thing before acceptance or during clinicals? I'm especially interested in P.A. restrictions. Thank you |

Response from Mr. Chambers
Generally, with the exception of medical personnel doing "invasive procedures" HIV+ medical providers are not prohibited from practicing their craft. Some states have laws regarding this as well. There is an article from 2008 that covers this topic well and gives information by state of pertinent laws. If you go to this site, you can download the PDF file. this site, Good luck, Jacques | |||||||||
