I am HIV + on Protease Inhibitors and have responded very well since diagnoised 2 years ago. My career field of 33 years at that time was in surgery, where I assisted with varying surgical procedures. However, due to the HIV status I was immediately removed from the area and due to hospital policy not allowed to return. Although I am presently pursusing a new career and taking college classes, I have been unsuccessful in finding employment due to a lack of skill & knowledge in other careers. Just recently a private healthcare agency offered me a position which would take me back into surgery. They are not aware of my HIV status. Will I have to inform them or just not take this desperately needed job?
