Risk of HIV with insulin needle stick?
Feb 29, 2012

While giving an insulin shot to a patient today I accidently stuck the used needle into my finger. The patient did not bleed during the shot but I hit a vein in my finger and it blead very bad. What is my risk of contracting HIV?

Response from Mr. Chambers

I'm sorry, but I'm not qualified to answer transmission questions. My specialty is insurance and workplace issues. You should ask one of the other experts that handles those questions. Good luck, Jacques
