where to get meds
Nov 7, 2010

I currently live in a nursing facility 55 yr old male and in good health other than hiv which is undetectable. i have both medicare and medicaid and get my meds from the facility pharmacy. i have silverscript that pays for my meds combivir and sustiva. if i move to an apartment where is the best place to get the meds i take i am on social security disibility thanks

Response from Dr. McGowan

Thanks for your question. I am glad you are thinking ahead about keeping your meds uninterrupted. Since you have medicaid and medicare you should not have to worry about payment and co-pays, etc. Since you are on disability you may want to look at a pharmacy that would deliver your meds to your home, your doc can renew scripts from the office. You should ask the case manager in the nursing home which specialty pharmacies may deliver in your area. Some chain pharmacies will deliver as well.
