Highmark PPO Blue
Dec 7, 2009

I work for a public school and my benefits are pretty good with PPO Blue. I have not tested positive yet, actually negative, but I'm trying to prepare myself.

Do you know if with PPO Blue there is the $1000 out of pocket expense per year and then they pay for everything else, or is it different than that?

I know I should just call them and ask about it, but wondered if you had any information being I have PPO Blue and work in the Public school system.

Thanks,

M.

Response from Ms. Franzoi

Blue Cross PPO plans vary from state to state. Without a copy of the Blue Cross PPO contract or summary plan description, I cannot tell you how the plan works. I am assuming that the $1,000 out-of-pocket amount you reference is an out-of-pocket maximum. If that is the case, then the plan would continue to pay at 100% of all covered expenses that fall within reasonable and customary charges.
