| Changing Employers Sep 4, 2009 Hello, I am changing employers in September. I will have had 12 months continuous group insurance coverage with my departing employer. My new employer has a 90 day waiting period for group insurance. Is it correct to assume at minimum, I would need to have COBRA coverage for the first two months of the 90 day waiting period to prevent any pre-existing clause issues? Thank you for your time! |

Response from Ms. Franzoi
You are correct. If you have a break in coverage of 63 days or more and your there is a pre-existing condition clause in your new employer's plan, it would apply to you. It would be best to have the COBRA coverage in the interim. | ||||||||||
