| Work insurance plan Jul 31, 2009 Hi, Thanks for taking your time to answering my email. I have some insurance question to ask. I recently got insurance though work. before I am sign up, in the application form I did tell them that I am HIV + and give the lists of med that I am taking. Today I receive a letter from blue cross (in California) say that they want to see my medical history report. Should I be worry that give that to them cause I am HIV +? will they not cover me cause my condition is per existence? Thank you for you help. |

Response from Ms. Franzoi
I don't know what type of policy you are covered under at your place of employment. If it is a group policy, it should not be a problem. You have already disclosed your medications so Blue Cross would be aware of your diagnosis. The plan might have a pre-existing condition clause in it and this could be why they are asking. Without more information on your plan, it is didfficult to tell you why they might be asking for this or whether or not they will provide coverage to you. | ||||||||||
