My husband has AIDS and needs insurance Apr 5, 2006 My husband has AIDS, is self-employed, and has Medicade. He would like to buy health insurance but is not sure that he could get affordable premiums. Are there specific companies that are more likely to insure a person with AIDS than others?  None that I am aware of. If you were employed with a company that offered a group health plan, you could cover him as a dependent. That would be the best way for him to get coverage. | ||||||||
