| Hipaa and preexisting conditions Dec 3, 2004 I am not infected, but have a pre-existing condition (chronic neck problems due a car wreck) and just got out of the Navy. I got individual insurance and was told there is a 5 year wait until anything related to this will be covered, maybe 2, if I can go that long w/o a problem (not likely) This doesn't sound right, is it? Coverage started w/in 60 days of separation. Do I have to use Champus before individual coverage will cover this? I don't have another job yet.I will hit 63 days the first week of December. |

Response from Ms. Franzoi
You should check with the Office of the State Insurance Commission to determine what is allowable in the state you reside in with respect to individual health policies. | |||||||||
