generic HIV meds
Aug 29, 2004

When will the early HIV medications become available in the U.S. as generics? Can we expect at anytime in the near future to see lower costs of medications?

Thank you, Kevin

Response from Ms. Breuer

What are you doing on November 2?

The answer is linked to patent expiration dates (not at all related to the election, and different for every medication) and the extent of pressure on pharmaceutical companies to reduce the cost of HIV meds and other lifesaving treatments.

Hint: don't expect the Party of the Elephant to do it.
