|Long Term Care Insurance: Is it worth the $?
Jun 25, 2004
I am 32, HIV+, 700+ T-Cells, undetectable, good health.
I currently have a long term care policy through UNUM that I pay $130/quarter.
Is it worth it to continue this policy seeing my age and health?

Only you can make this decision. You really have to evaluate what the benefit is vs. how much it costs, what you think the likelihood is that you will need this, what would happen if you did not have LTC coverage and needed assistance in daily living activities, etc. It also depends on the terms of the policy. Does it have a return of premium upon death? Can you get a reduced paid-up benefit? Is there premium waiver?
