| Disability Insurance Mar 14, 2002 I have Disabilty insurance with a major carrier. The policy states disability is loss of sight, hearing or a limb. Does having HIV constitute a disability to be covered under this type of policy? Thanks for your help |

Response from Ms. Franzoi
The plan you are describing is not a disability plan. It sounds like a personal accident insurance or accidental death and dismemberment plan with a disability feature in it. If this is the case, a dsisability resulting from HIV/AIDS would not be covered because the disability has to be the result of an accident. | |||||||||
