I clean houses part-time to help pay for college. The other day I cut my finger on a razor blade. I don't know if there was blood on it but I do know that there was hair and what looked to be old shaving cream. I do not know how long the razor had been sitting out either. There was no blood that came out of my finger but there was a slight surface cut. If the individual did have HIV what would my chances be of getting it? I am really freaking out about this!!!!!!!!

Response from Ms. Breuer

Your experience put you at risk of hepatitis B or C, but not HIV. Please get follow-up care for possible hepatitis exposure, but relax about HIV. Dried blood does not transmit HIV.
