mandatory HIV testing
Sep 21, 1999

HIV testing should or should not be mandatory in hearlth care professions?

Response from Ms. Gabriel

Your question is an interesting one and makes me curious about why you would ask. To that the end that, historically, mandatory testing has not proved to be a good investment, I would answer "no."

A better alternative - mandatory workplace HIV education - in all professions. I find that employees, as a whole, make better decisions when they are provided comprehensive, unbiased education about legal right & responsibilities.
