How is COBRA coverage affected when moving?

I live in California and am currently enrolled in my company's plan with Kaiser. However, my parents in Texas are aging, and I wanted to take a year off from work to move back home and spend time with them. As there are no Kaiser facilities in Texas, I am wondering how my medical coverage works in I enroll in COBRA and relocate. Does COBRA coverage become void if I move to another state or can they place under coverage with another company? I could fly back to California every 3 months for medical visits and to get my meds, but I am wondering if I would have to resort to that.

If you move out of the coverage area, you typically would not have any COBRA coverage. You should check with Kaiser to see if you could "temporarily" move to Texas and return to California for medical treatment. I do not know if they allow this.
