cobra coverage
Apr 2, 2009
Hi
I am a recent employee at Kaiser Permanente and have elected to maintain my health insurance via cobra. I have made appropriate payments for Jan, Feb and March. Yesterday my dentist called to remind me of an appointment. I, in turn, asked the dentist to verify my insurance coverage. My dentist checked my coverage and found that I am not covered. The check that I wrote for subsequent coverage has been paid. Please share with me what it takes to get coverage.

Response from Ms. Franzoi

Your question is not clear. Did you leave another employer and take COBRA coverage and now are employed at Kaiser and waived Kaiser's coverage. If that is the case and you elected medical and dental under your prior employer's plan, you should still have it as long as you did not elect coverage from Kaiser.
