Friend recently found out he is HIV+
Aug 28, 2006
My friend tested positive about a week ago,he is not handling it well...matter of fact being very mean, says I am the only one he has told. Then telling me to go away because I remind him he is dying everytime he see's my face...why is that? I am not the one that exposed him...we have never had a sexual relation of any sort.He is a Registered Nurse, now trying to locate a different job that includes medical insurance. He doesnt want anyone to know he has tested +,because that would be a pre existing illness. Can a RN renew their nursing license if they are positive?

Response from Ms. Breuer

Yes, the license can be renewed. But the human spirit needs renewing first here. This is a person crying out for counseling. Please do all you can to pull, push, drag, cajole, nag him into a situation where he is with an HIV-knowledgeable social worker or counselor.
