| Is it possible the second time around? Jan 20, 2006 Hi Im a 32 yr old HIV+ woman, I was first diagnosed in 1992, I had been in denial for about 12 yrs, until recently when I got pregnant and had my baby, after a year of having my son, I got sick and contracted PCP,my cd4 was 26 and my vl was up in the millions, Im now on HAARTs, combo includin Truvada,Lexiva,Norvir, Me and my husband has now accepted the fact that we have HIV, I have been on meds now for about 11 months, my cd4 is about 300, and my vl is about 20,000, I want to know, if its possible for us to have another baby, with out me getting sick, now that Im on meds And all praises to GOD my son is now 2 yrs old and HIV NEGATIVE, I thank God almighty everyday for that, please hekp me out, we want another baby SO BAD |

When you were pregnant with a high viral load your risk of transmitting HIV to your baby was high but you were lucky and your baby was not infected; you will always be at risk for transmitting HIV to your baby if you become pregnant; this risk is lowest[ less than 1%] if your viral load is undetectable throughout pregnancy; JLS. |
