Late Diagnoses Dec 9, 2005 My daughter has been diagnosed with "full blown aids". She's never been tested before and the doctor thinks she's been infected for 13 - 15 years. Are there any treatments that will give her a chance at a longer life? She's only 35 years old. |

 Yes, good HIV care and antiviral treatment can make a real difference. I would recommend that she learn as much as she can and then discuss her options with her doctor. There is lots of good information on this web site. The recommendations for the use of antiretroviral therapy in adults, available under the "Treatment Guidelines" section of this web site, may be particularly helpful since they discuss available treatments and recommendations regarding their use. |
