Coccidia from Puppy? Jan 9, 2005 Good Morning Doctor, I am an healthy HIV women with a non-detectable viral load who got a puppy 1 month ago. My puppy had the Coccidia parasite and I was assured that it is not transmissible to humans. I have however, had diarrhea ever since I got him. I have had no changes in diet or meds, so I'm beginning to wonder. Is there a possiblity that I could have picked up something from my puppy? I'm a Medical Technologist and understand that there are some parasites/worms etc that can be passed on to humans (especially in a immunocompromised individual). Please advise. Thank You! |
