| Getting pregnant when you're positive May 25, 2004 I am HIV positive and my boyfriend of 4yrs isnt. My CD4 is 856. Can I get pregnant without transmitting the virus to him? |

The only way that you could be absolutely certain that your boyfriend was not at risk for becoming infected would be through artificial insemination; if you become pregnant and your viral load is undetectable[ less than 50 copies/ml] throughout pregnancy you would have a less than 1% chance[ almost zero] chance of transmitting HIV to your infant; JLS. |
