Mar 29, 2004
Although she has always tested HIV- (now 18 mo's old), is there any chance that she may become HIV+ in the future? (without further exposure)The testing was done in Russia, what are the chances of a false negative? Thank you!
Response from Dr. Sullivan
If your child has been tested repeatedly tested and found to be negative for antibodies to HIV through 18 mos of age you can be absolutely sure she is not infected; HIV tests are very accurate in all parts of the world; JLS.
