|Going for the third HIV Test.
Feb 19, 2004
Hi,Have you ever had cases where you found a false blood test which came out positive twice and then the third time it came out negative? if yes, how often does it happen because i was raped and left HIV positive and it's been 5 years now, i want to go for another test and i really am hoping it will come out negative because i haven't been on treatment ever since and my CD4 count is over 200. Everyone is wondering if i really am positive, is that possible?

If the ELISA and confirmatory tests were positive, you are HIV infected. Clearance of HIV does not occur but it is possible for infected individuals to remain well for many years after acquiring infection. You should definitely seek care from and discuss your situation with an individual experienced in diagnosing and caring for HIV-infected individuals.
