Recently, on January 31, as a usual donor, I went to a blood donation. Yesterday I recieved a letter with some test results that I really do not understand. The following results are: HIV-1/2 POS HIV-1 (anti-HIV-1. EIA) NA HIV-2 (anti-HIV-2. EIA)NEG HIV-1 Western Blot Confirmatory Test IND HIV-2 West Blot Suppl. NA HIV-1 Antigen (EIA)Confirmatory Test (neut) NEG HIV Nucleic Acid Testing NEG All other testings from Hepatitis, STS and other HIV antigen were NEG. I do not understand, as I said before. I can't sleep, eat or do anything but cry and wonder how or why. Never used drugs, been only with one partner (first one another) and not exposed to the virus. Please help me figure this out, I am desperate. My doctor will see me next Monday.
Response from Dr. Sullivan
My reading of the results indicate you are not HIV infected; some of the tests were false positives or indeterminates; these results will be explained by your physician, in the meantime relax, you are not infected;JLS.
