do condoms really work
Dec 1, 2000

Can condoms really prevent you from getting knocked up?

Response from Dr. Jackson

Yes, condoms can prevent you from becoming pregnant because a condom, if used properly and does not break, will prevent semen from being deposited in the vagina so that an egg cannot be fertilized. For the same reason, a condom will prevent transmission of HIV since you are not exposed to the HIV found in semen.
