		How soon can I be tested after exposure? Apr 9, 2003 My husband is HIV+, and at last report (in February 2003) I am (-). We conceived a child on Mid-March, and learned of his (+) status literally days after conceiving. Obviously we are very anxious to see if I was also infected at that time. How soon can I be tested and get accurate results? Our MD is saying wait until 12 weeks after exposure....do we really need to wait that long?


		Response from Dr. Jackson I too would get tested at 12 weeks. You could get tested at 6 weeks as well which would be reassuring if negative, but then I would test again at 12 weeks to be sure. BJ
