Response from Dr. Jackson

There is not a simple answer to your question. The odds of getting pregnant depend on many things such as your age, frequency of sexual intercourse, when you have sexual intercourse during your menstrual cycle, and the potency of your partner. Likewise, assuming your partner is HIV infected, the odds of getting HIV depends on several factors, the stage of disease of your HIV infected partner, whether your partner is on antiretroviral therapy, the type of sex, the frequency of sex, and whether you use condoms.
